HELP: A scrolling LED matrix Standings board

This community seems pretty great so maybe this had already been done, but I have come into some 32x64 LED Matrix Hub75 boards and I thought that making a scrolling leaderboard for my teammates for Christmas would be fun. I was wondering if anyone has done this before or if anyone know where to start. Last year on of my teammates got me a light bar that uses you guys and this place has on screen leaderboards. Has anyone made one of these? Where do I start? Is the code hard? FYI I do not have hardly any coding experience. a Noob as the kids would say.
