I took out an adafruit motorshield from my ARduino UNO based WIND simulator as the motorshield only could support current up to 3A and I have 2 x 2.7A fans. I decided to use the PWM FAn option with only the UNO board and pin 9 input for the PWM signal. Now when I am trying to upload a new sketch the upload never starts or in other words the process freezes when the PLEASE WAIT UPLOADING phase appears on the screen. It just stops and does not progress so I just need to press the cancel button. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to reset the ARduino somehow before trying to upload a new sketch?

Wil,

I remembered that I used this video from Shaun to build my windsimulator. It worked for me!

But I had problems with my Adafruit+Arduino (I don't remember which one now) to be detected in Win10 because it was a clone version, and the driver that Win10 was trying to install was old. So, I remembered that one of the links below for the driver worked and I could upload the Simhub files to the Arduino:

I hope this helps

In addition check your Solder points.  I had the same issue reordered & problem was resolved.

Thank you for the responses

I had it working one time but of course have no idea how or why.

When I added more fans now only idle is working.

I have spent hours on this trying every option in simhub well the two Shakeit PMW and PMW Fans

There are only so many default settings and one did work ONCE!

I figure the uno is not receiving or sending the correct PWM signal to the shield but I just don't know why.

I realize using a DK shield and a computer fan is not the correct hardware to use but I was just testing before I spend money on the Moto Monster and decent fans.

I can get the fans to respond to idle (I can ramp it up and down in simhub) but just no signal to ramp up or slow down when driving

What ever I set the idle too when I am driving that the speed of the fans, it is not reacting to the speed of the car.

At this point I am going to swallow and spend the 300 bucks to get an of the shelf option

This has just been way to frustrating.
