@xbooster Hi Jerome, so the Cytron MD10 or MDD10, is the best option I believe, it is easier to setup. I used the MD10 (which just has one channel so if you use two fans, you put the connectors into the same terminals), where as the MDD10 is dual channel, so you will have seperate terminals for each fan. The Cytron MD10, or MDD10 can provide more power, whereas the Arduino Motor Shield Rev 3 will limit the power of the fans slightly, and with the Arduino Motor Shield Rev 3, you have to cut a "trace" on the back of the board, which is why I prefer the Cytron options.

The power supply can be found at my affiliate link here (affiliation with amazon doesn't cost you any more, but it helps support my YouTube channel with reviewing/doing projects such as this on Youtube to help others): https://amzn.to/3UioZxE

Hope that helps,

Kind regards,

Mark

In addition two fans on the cytron MDD10 it is you if I could connect two led matrix https://amzn.eu/d/gi4BsNG

thank you for your help

best regards

Jerome

@xbooster Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately I don't know much about LED setups, but I can't see why you couldn't use these/program these as well. Hope it has all worked out okay, Mark

@gazzipΒ

Hello. I ask for your help before I do something stupid.
I have everything hooked up and when I press the M2B and M1B test buttons on the Cytron MDD10 board my 2 fans are spinning fine. But in Simhub it does nothing. I have 2 doubts. The position of the DIR1, PWM1, DIR2 and PWM2 jumpers as well as the 5V connection to be cut.
Is it mandatory to cut this connection?
How did you put your jumpers and what did you put in Simhub?
Sorry for my English, I'm French.
Thank you.

@jim54230 Hi - I don't know the exact answer, as I used the single channel MD10 with my jumpers on D2 and D3, hopefully gazzip will be able to help as they used the dual channel MDD10. But from looking at your pictures, some of the following might help:

- you selected the multiple arduino setup, and not the single arduino setup. That gives you some slightly different settings. So try just clicking single Arduino.Β

- You selected channel 5 and 6 in simhub, because of your multiple arduino settings, hopefully when you have done a single arduino setup it will solve that, and for mine I just selected channel 1 and 2 in Simhub, and activated them for speed.

-You have channel 3 activated for RPM, I didn't do this, so deactivating it might help. Also deactivate channel 5 and 6 as mentioned above, and only have channel 1 and 2 activated for speed.

-It looks like you have the RPM channel activated in the shakeit motors section profile tab, deactivate that.

Hopefully all of that will help. I did do a video, which can be found here which might help more -

Good luck, fingers crossed,

Mark

Thank you for your help.
I tried with a single Arduino but the result was the same.
I have on motors 1, 2, 3 and 4 motors from another Arduino for RPM, TC and ABS.

@jim54230 That makes sense regarding your other motors/channels. I'm struggling to see what could be wrong, I found this post, maybe they can help? https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/ym5oy7/has_anyone_successfully_built_a_wind_simulator_or/

@mbrown278Β

It's all good. I measured the voltage at the output of the motors when I run a test in Simhub and I had negative voltage. I just reversed the polarities and everything worked.
Thank you.
So I put the jumpers in D3 and D10 on the board and in Simhub.

@xbooster Did you manage to put LEDs in addition to the 2 motors on the same Arduino?
Thank you.

First off... THANK YOU MARK! Really appreciate you taking the time to do this!

Having some trouble though so hoping you or someone can help. I purchased 2 sets of everything for 2 sim racing rigs... (2) Uno R3's, (2) Arduino Motor Shields Rev3, (2) 12V 3A Power Adapter and (4) EZDIY-FAB 12cm 120mm 200CFM 4000RPM CPU Cooling 12V Fans. Unfortunately, I cannot get the fans to spin at all on either. I have tested the fans with the power supplies and they all work well so neither of those are the issues. I have downloaded SimHub on both systems and setup exactly how the tutorials have stated (one said to set them up one way, another tutorial another way, neither way works). I can press the test buttons in SimHub and the 2 lights on the motor shield do light up for each channel so that is supposed to indicate that power is being sent to the fans. However, they do not budge. Again, I have set the values up exactly as the tutorials state. I have also made sure to slice the through the copper trace on the motor shield board (rather than jumper on previous boards). I am not sure what to do. Would love any feedback on what I am missing? Thanks!!

@craticaΒ

Can you post pictures of your setup. Can you measure the voltage sent to the motors when you press test in Simhub? See if this voltage is indeed positive. If negative, reverse the connection. For me, the problem was there. I mistakenly thought that plugging in backwards would make the motors spin the other way, but no, they just don't spin.
