Salut @jim54230

Hi @jim54230,

I confirm that with the Cytron mdd10 engine it is indeed possible to operate in addition to the two fans of the matrix leds (FLAG):  https://amzn.eu/d/1Axma2K

For the matrix LEDs, simply connect the + to the 5v pin, the - to the GND pin and the IN to a free digital pin on the MDD10 board.

For the configuration in simhub I used this tutorial from 10:35:

A big thank you to @Day VReamer for his tutorial and his help and thanks to all who published on this post who helped me configure the MDD10 motor.

@jim54230 You got it!! I reversed the wires of the fans and it worked!! The negatives (white lines are now positive rather than being negative so wired wrong at factory I guess). I too would have never guessed it wouldn't not just spin backwards.  Anyhow, thank you for that.

*edit. My son got it working in a game, didn't realize you had to start game from simhub. thx all!

@cratica Can you confirm that you have done this: In Simhub, there should be a tab on the left that says games, click on that, then find the game you want to run, click it and it should install the necessary files to the game. Hopefully it should then work?

If you have already done that then I'm not quite sure why it isn't running, I'll have a think and hopefully someone else can assist 👍

@cratica

there are still things to do in Simhub. In the Arduino part and in the Shakelt Motors part.

I think it's explained in the video.

@xbooster

You did it ? The IN on pin A0, A1, A2, A3, A4 or A5 of the MDD10?

See my photo.

@jim54230 Yes, we did all of those. What was missing for iRacing (and Asseto) was to start iRacing from within Simhub. I thought by setting up the config that linked to the iRacing UI it would automatically pipe the data to Simhub but I guess it does not. And my son got his farming simulator to work by clicking on the games/farming simulator section that sets that up so he is good to go too. thx again all.

@jim54230

Here is how I connected my matrix leds to cytron MDD10. The IN is misplaced on your schema

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my fans. I need you, thank you in advance. when I click on "Test" in the "Speed" tab my two fans work perfectly. when I play Assetto Corsa competizione there is only one (the one on the right). the problem is not with the fans. does anyone know this problem?

  • @r-v That is an odd one. What motor shield did you use in the end? This is an unlikely cause - but are your fan wires wired in to the + and - the same way? You haven't done the right side fan wires the wrong way around? That's an absolute guess, and probably wouldn't cause the issue you have stated, but hopefully someone will have an idea/be able to help.

@r-v I have seen with others that the fans still spin if some of the wiring is the wrong way around with testing it on the motor shield, but then it not work in Simhub. If you're certain they are the right way around then that is obviously not the issue though

Hi,

I did other tests this evening. The fans do not always work in the same way in the same situation. Sometimes the motorshield LED is on but the fan does not turn.

I wonder if I don't have a compatibility problem between my 12v power supply from my motor shield and my fans.  is it possible ?
