@turboone the update killed it again xD
but without update, it survived a restart
I can also relate to the problem. It was somewhat a shock to find that something that was working a day before suddenly stopped without any obvious reason.
Is this a driver issue or SimHub issue? After all, flashing works just fine, it's the recognition after that that seems to be the problem. Probably there is some compatibility issue between the new driver and SimHub?
The problem is the driver, if yoy try to upload something via arduino ide with the new driver you can't
1. which brand of products do you use that work?
2. what type of USB connection do they have?
3. @all do your non-working boards exclusively have a mini-USB connector? mine do
3. @all do your non-working boards exclusively have a mini-USB connector? mine do
No, mine is with USB-B.
@tomjaytea mine are all the same mini usb, the fat OG USB connector. as far as brand I honestly thought they were all the same boards but maybe from a different batch. the ones I have that I just tried are the "Hosyond" brand? Dunno man I just buy cheap nano boards from amazon lmao im sorry im not much more help, but i definitely have 2 boards and they seem to be my oldest, that are working totally fine right now. The third, no matter what I do, even reflash new ones, still the same response. The light is on, on the board, but simhub doesnt see it, shows "unrecognized" in device manager.
*edit* and yes I did swap out every single possible usb connection and port during this process
Last update of simhub fix it for me.
@tiagoalam To me not, also with the new version of simhub and new driver version, not recognized board
Further troubleshooting:
1. I got an Asus ROG Zephyrus Laptop with Intel 12th gen i7 12700H to which I plug in my stuff.
2. As described in device manager, the USB-Controller is a Intel USB 3.10 and 3.20 eXtensible Hostcontroller. I also got USB4 Hoster-Router (Microsoft).
How about you guys? Any commonalities?
hey all just wanted to post a quick update to answer a question from earlier. I did not update simhub yet, just to make sure this was correct. The brand that I use that works on the previous versions of simhub are ELEGOO brand from amazon. Relatively cheap boards but I've not had an issue with any of the ones I run. I just ordered another box of them, flashed one quick, and its recognized and works just fine.

doesnt sound like. in fact, I have kind of the exact opposite of your setup:
Asus TUF x570 wifi mobo
Ryzin 7 5600x
AMD 6750xt
32 gb ddr4 ram
I do use a cheap, powered usb hub as well. the 3 or so boards that I use are all usually plugged into that, and I havent had any issues until this driver thing popped up. I just posted one above about what brand board I used that work just fine, must be the newer version or, well I don't know. They just work lol. ELEGOO brand NANO boards from amazon. 3 pack is less than $20 I believe.
Hi !
If you can upload it means the the driver is correct. I would look first at wiring if there is no shorts and if pins are in the correct order, look for bad solder, weak connections .... Another possibility is the lack of power preventing the Arduino to correctly start, often bad usb cables or usb hubs cope into play here. If you are using an RGB matrix, power is a huge factor and depending of your Arduino you might need to add an external power supply (it's not required most of the time, but it can happen.) : https://github.com/zegreatclan/SimHub/wiki/Arduino--Setup#powering-considerations

@admin5435 I got a new hypothesis:I bought the suggested Elegoo Nano v3 boards on Amazon and they work! As a user, the difference between all the boards that did not work and the one now working is the BOOTLOADER!
So all non-working boards where using OLD bootloader (in my case). The new Elegoo board uses the NEW bootloader. Could it be that the newest windows driver is not properly supporting the old bootloader anymore (or a related issue)?
For all others that faced these issues: did you exclusively have problems with devices that use the old bootloader?
If that is so, @admin5435 may this be addressed or pointed out in a simhub update, so users will know about that issue(?) Could you research if that is actually the problem?
The bootloader only acts at upload, but considering the symptoms I would think more about an issue growing lately: https://github.com/SHWotever/SimHub/wiki/Arduino---Counterfeit-Fake-CH340G-chips-driver-issues
