I am trying to put a wind sim program on an arduino Uno clone. The first steps succeed. With setup tool I can get the program on the arduino, but the device is not recognized afterwards. Set to Com4. Connect notifications: Connecting -> Hello -> Model J -> Unrecognized. Can it be a non working clone. It is said to be compatible with Arduino Uno R3. Or does i do something els wrong

Hi ! If you can upload but can't connect it make me think about a defective motor shield or a short. You can test it easily by simply unplugging the shield. If it connects you will be fixed about it.

I have removed the shield and indeed it is now possible to get a connection. Could it be anything else than an incorrect shield?

The shield has a green light. Should this on turn on if there is electricity? First this was off, so i changed the + and Ground. The light on shield went on, but no connection anymore. Now there seems to be no connection at all. Arduino blown up maybe? Program is not responding when compiling 🙁
