So I have a PWM wind sim setup with an Arduino Uno, and it's great! I love it! Simple, takes no space, more than enough airflow for me. That being said, as I am building out the dash area I am going to add a 3rd and 4th fan (2L,2R). While looking at fan prices I thought about this - if I get RGB or aRGB fans, can I control the LED's in the fans thru the arduino? Ideally I would have a row of 4x PWM fans (2L,2R) and connect the aRGB/RGB together to function as a flag indicator/shift light (whatever really). I know I could do this with an LED strip but I'm not sure of voltages etc and figured that someone must have looked into this before. Are fan LED's 5V or 12V? are they just led strips as far as functionality is concerned for a project like this?

Anyway thanks guys - appreciate your feedback 🙂
