AX206 screen corruption

Hi
I've just got an AX206 3.5" screen from AliExpress >here. The dash displays get corrupted almost immediately. Is there some parameter I need to change or is the screen not compatible or defective? I'm using the latest version of Win 10 Pro 64bit. My Vocore screen and my phone work fine

NB It's not a porn video - the first shot is the default image shown at start-up!  Screenshot Video of corrupted dash screens >here.

I click flip screen which mostly momentarily shows an uncorrupted dash but then it corrupts.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi !

Hum it looks like communication issues, could you try with another usb port/cable ? And if you use some usb hubs avoid it, i've inspected the picture it clearly looks like some data get lost. This screen is working a little differently than others because only "changes" are getting sent that's why when you flip it the whole picture is sent again, but even when this happens it seems that you can't even get a full proper picture.

I bought 4 displays from the link I gave in the guide and all of them worked correctly no matter the computer I used so would focus first on usb connection/bandwidth issues, that's my best bet here.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried several cables including an Amazon Fire tablet cable and different USB ports and got  the same corruption.

I did a new install of SimHub on my old Win 10  laptop and still get the same problem.

To test the comms, I tried to install the AIDA64  LCD sensor screen option with an old adapted AX206-based_DPF driver from their forums but I don't think it works with Win10.

Aida64 requires another driver but it's a good test indeed here is he link for the aida version of the driver : http://download.aida64.com/resources/lcd/ax206_lcd_driver.zip (once installed simhub won't recognize it anymore, you will need to reinstall the simhub version of the driver before reusing it with simhub)

Yes that's the one I already tried but it doesn't do anything on my computer when I double click on installer_x64.exe, even as administrator. The included  files are from 2014. I'm not sure if I can install the files manually?

Greetings!

I have exactly the same problem as the author of the topic. The screen shows a static image from SIMHUB, but as soon as changes occur, the image breaks. Aida64 drivers won't start.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you!

I was able to test the operation of the monitor using the AIDA64 drivers. The monitor is working. But when installing SIMHUB drivers, the picture breaks. Only static DASH shows. When changes begin on the screen, everything freezes and breaks.

@chris99

I used the drivers that the seller of the  monitor with ali-express sent me. But as Wotever wrote above, AIDA64 is suitable only for checking the perfomance of the monitor. With these drivers, SIMHUB cannot see this monitor. But i see that we have the same problem, and your monitor is also working. Link to drivers below.

 👍 Great thanks.

Using the Zadig installer to install libusb-win32 (v1.2.6.0), Aida64 now displays on the screen, so it confirms the screen is working ok.

Hi ! I tried to order one using a link given by somebody having the same issue, but unfortunately order was canceled a few days ago and i'm now in holidays so i can't start another order, currently I suspect that the firmware does not support correctly partial redraws (AX206 is a hacked photoframe chip which uses a custom firmware. Unfortunately outside of a linux software there is no other software which makes uses of it. But without partial redraws the screen only reaches 2FPS and it's too slow for any useful uses in simhub. I will try another order as soon as i'm back at home.

Hallo! Tell me please? does it make sense to wait for a solution with the AX206 monitor, or is it time to look for another alternative device? 🙄
