Bass shaker "click" noise when effects start or end

See attached file for audio examples of me pressing "Test now" multiple times. Before and after bass shakers activate, there's a very audible (and feelable!) click.

I tried on various speakers/shakers and frequencies, but it doesn't seem to matter, it's always there. I also looked up documentation on this website and forum, to no avail.

Is there a convenient way to dampen a sound like that?
