Hi everyone,

I got my Buttkicker 2 installed in my sim rig about a few weeks ago.The issue I'm struggling with is delay between the actual sound going trough the VR Headset (Valve Index) and the Buttkicker that is connected to the 3.5 jack of the audio card (speakers (Realtek(R) Audio) ).Can't get what is wrong.
When I test the effects from Sim Hub they work on time, but when I'm on iRacing it has this delay of about 0.5 seconds.
It seems for some reason the audio signal it's been send later to the speakers relative to the VR Headseat.
Where should I look or what should I try?

Thank you!!

I have the same problem (in iRacing). Just hooked up 4 x Aurasound Pro shakers to a JBL amp and licensed the Simhub app (huge thanks for creating and sharing the app btw... you're awesome!). Played around the settings and was able to get good rpm, road vibrations, road rumble etc. going... but there seems to be a delay from when I enter the rumble strips to when the vibration is felt. You can hear the sound before the vibrations. Tried to tweak the settings but can't seem to sync them. Wondering if this has something to do with the latency between the game to the soundcard (motherboard) to the amp then finally to the shakers. Any advice would be much appreciated!

So I just got my Buttkicker Gamer 2 and I have the same problem, did you find any solution?

I'm having the same problem. I have the HP Reverb G2 and the Buttkicker simulation kit and I'm finding it is unusable in the current state due to the delay. The sound coming out of my VR headset is much earlier than the Buttkicker. This is the case for all the games I have tried. Right now, I'm using a Realtek audio device on the rear of my PC. I have it set up through the Realtek software so that the front panel and rear are two different audio devices. I was thinking that maybe something with that is causing a delay. I've got a standalone PCI-E and USB sound card coming to see if either of those makes a difference. I'll post here with an update when I have one.

Hello,

-I have a fix that worked for me-

I was having the same issue with Buttkicker Simulation kit, using oculus CV1 headset audio and plugging buttkicker into my rear (green) audio output. Using the Realtek output. Driving the buttkicker with simhub

I first checked all drivers are up to date, then went on the realtek audio console and disabled all of the effects for both 'speakers' and 'digital output'. This fixed the issue for me and now there is no noticeable delay.

Hope this helps 🙂

I’ve also got this problem When using Simhub.

Half second really kills it and it’s not really usable. Real shame Hope we can find a solution

Hi!
I just recently got my bass shaker system up running (which I very much enjoy btw!), and I noticed this problem as well. However, I don't use VR, but I do have the same issue mentioned here of about 0.5 Sec delay or so. I made my testing and some pretty advanced setup for Raceroom. Half a second is a bit much if you intend to use sound/vibrations as cue to wheel slip or wheel lock etc, and not just for immersion. That's really a shame I think. I have the feeling that Simhub are processing lots of game data and translating a bunch of input to output information which might be the cause of the delay to soundcard a bit long. I'm aware that there will always be some latency with digital audio processing, but this is indeed much to much for your health on a race track. I wonder if there are any knowledgable people that could shed some light on this issue?

I'm thinking if there may be any game telemetry outputs that's not needed for this purpose that you could turn off in Simhub that may slim the computing and speed up the processing time, or, if there are any Simhub functions that could be cancelled for the same reason? As I'm not very good at programming, I have little to no idea of how this tool behaves with "unnecessary" computing. All I know is that it's a very comprehensive piece of software that can do a lot of interacting with different hardware and other software simultaneously. Anyone know if this could be done and if this might be a solution, at least to some extent?

Anyway, I will make an attempt by trial and error to see if I can find anything that could possibly shorten the latency with the very limited understanding I have.

Have a great day 😊

@lemmy I actually got mine working in the end and it was to do with the standard Realtek audio sound card drivers.

I uninstalled the default Realtek drivers and then downloaded The high definition audio devices drivers.

Try following this guide in this link and see if it also helps you.

Hi @maydaybruh!
Thanks for the info! Really glad you found a way to solve this. 👍 I'm a bit surprised though that it was just a simple matter of reinstalling the SC driver. However, for the Bass Shakers I don't use my integrated Realtek SC (as I use that for game sound), but a separate and simple USB PnP SoundCard just for this purpose, addressed in Simhub, which uses a standard windows and very simple driver. So no point in reinstalling Realtek really. But I can try another SC for sure as I happen to own some more expensive sound equipment. May it be that my PC can't take the heat for some other reason I don't understand, but it certainly doesn't show in any way that I max out the CPU,RAM or GPU when I run all my sim stuff. So still a bit of a mystery to me, but I'm quite patient, and as you mention, it' should be solvable.

I'll get back if/when I happen to sort this out.

Cheers!
