I had a system breakdown which ended up being CPU, but the damage was done. I replaced the CPU and due to no boot and corruption of the ssd (C Drive) had to re-format the drive and completely re-install windows. After re establishing Steam and drivers etc I installed the latest simhub version and every thing works accept my bass shakers. The system sees my 6 channel USB sound box, I can do a sound test and all channels react with my 6 pucks in my seat so I cant see a problem with the PC at this stage.

I tried to reinstall the drivers for the sound box and reverted to a previous version of sim hub but the same no shakers but simwind via Arduino UNO and monster motor shield is perfect.

In simhub I can test all six channels but it seems only 2 or 3 pucks react but to all 6 channels tested its like all channels set off a few shaker pucks. I checked to make sure of my wiring even though nothing has changed in the seat and everything was OK, so can only assume simhub is working correctly.

When I run any game none of the bass shakers work, I made sure simhub configured all games and manually configured the rest that would not configure automatically. Can anyone help as I am stumped.

Hi !
So if wind sim works it means nothing is to be found on game telemetry settings indeed if one works the others will work.
If you can test all 6 channels, nothing to be found neither on drivers channels settings

At this point I see a few things possible, volume too high and the amplifier does a safety shutdown. When testing the channels one by one in Simhub it's a quite difficult situation to reproduce, but when all the effects comes alive it's more easy to trigger, a quick test would be to seriously reduce volume.

Another option would be VR settings if you use VR, VR can mirror sound on another sound card and sometime VR can use it in "exclusive mode" in order to reduce latency, I don't know If it's a default option.

In all cases you can monitor the current state of the sound card in simhub, you can put the game in windowed and watch for it in the background :

After a game start Simhub automatically restart all the audio interfaces to arrange any VR sound card changes. But if somehow the sound card is not available anymore (for the reasons above) you will see it showing a red error message.

Another error I've encountered myself was a defective USB driver, My USB sound card was based on CM6206 chip which is really common in lot of USB sound cards and installing an older driver solved it (I can't remember the exact version sorry)

I've also seen recently some issues with USB sound cards and USB3 ports, I did not have the ultimate conclusion about this, but at the last point of my investigations, it seems related to the latest windows updates from these last weeks.

Let me know,
Nicolas

As an update and all working now I did a c-media driver search, the c-media website on had X64 Win 8 drivers but going to an independent drivers download website had an updated driver for windows 10 which then sent me back to a hidden page on the C-media website where I could download it.

Why are these companies so secretive after all the drivers were RC and not beta - so why not list them in the normal downloads. I do remember getting a disc with the sound box but have misplaced the disc so must have had the correct version on the disc???

So count this as finallised - I hope it does help someone in the future that may come across this problem.

@admin5435 thanks for the very fast response yes you were correct it was a driver issue, I was puzzled with the muddy response of each channel working but only operating a few (basically the same) bass shakers so I immediately did 2 things;

1. I was using a USB extension cable so I made sure the sound card was direct connected - that made no difference.

2. Did a driver search and found a win 10 driver (CM-6206-lx) that must have been on the original misplaced disc that was included with the card.

Thanks again     Bill

P.S. I want to add a left and right proximity light by using the left/right indicator light in my E36 dash, can this be done in simhub as it stands or will there be a need to add code to simhub to enable arduino output pins (to turn on a lights) when another car is in proximity to the rear, left or right of your car? Would be a great addition to simhub as well as safety and race flag indicator lights or use a TM1638 or other type of screen to display in letters and colour background.
