Hi all, Im new with this amazing app.
Have some questions about how to connect my Android Phone via USB using tethering or similar, to avoid wifi issues.
In the place that I have the simulator, have not the best wifi connection, so if I connect the phone via wifi acceding to my local host, I have some delay and lags for some moments.
It's possible to connect the phone via tethering or common USB?
Thanks
Hi!
There is nothing integrated into SimHub for that but if you configure properly your phone it should be possible,
There are two ways to my knowledge :
- Thetering, it depends of your phone features, when the connection is established you simply need to grab your computer IP (ipconfig command should give it to you) and use it instead of the local network ip suggested by simhub, but usually, it does not works with tablets or phones without data enabled
- - ADB : https://handstandsam.com/2016/02/01/network-calls-from-android-device-to-laptop-over-usb-via-adb/

Hello guys, sorry to revive such an old thread, but I can confirm that USB tethering to PC does work without network data transmission or anything.
I set my cheap tablet to USB tethering as the sole USB function, then when it was connected, went to Network settings, grabbed the IP address from the tablet and put that into the Simhub APK, and it works perfectly everytime over USB only. 🙂
