Custom needle

Hello folks.

 I’m trying to make a replica SMITHS tacho.  I’m using the gauge template and it looks good so far.

However I’m struggling to understand how to use an image of a needle.  So far I have created a needle, imported it, replaced the standard red needle but it doesn’t centre (it has its own centre and tail)

I searched YT and the rest but can’t find a solution.

Any pointers greatly received
