Hello everyone

I am trying to use my iPad as a Dash but "Open in phone or tablet" doesn't works.
"URL cannot be displayed. Safari cannot open the page."
"Open in browser" (Firefox) is no problem.

SimHub version 9.1.18 / iPad Air iOS 12.5.7 or iPhone iOS 17.2
PC WIN11 and iPad/iPhone are in the same WLAN
Sim: ACC

- Router restarted
- PC: Norton Firewall off / WIN Defender off / Proxy off
- iPad Air is empty, no other apps, no firewall, Safari as default browser
- Browser cache empty
- Port 8888 and 10100 tried, no success
- Forum: Troubleshoot Dashstudio Web access, no success
- Forum: Multiple Devices indicating webpage is not available , no success

Do I have the wrong iPad or iPhone settings? Do I need to open any ports on the router?
Can someone help me please?
Thanks and best regards
PeterM

I happen to have the exact same config. Everything is on default, no specific (network) settings.

- 1st edition iPad Air from 2013 running 12.5.7 only used for Simhub, nothing else.

- And also running Simhub 9.1.8

- Just tested for you with ACC = no issues

In Safari the first time, you need to make a shortcut to your iOS desktop. Did you do that as well?

Secondly, have you tried a different Dash? It's an option to develop dashboard for specific games.

Thirdly, have you tried a different game other than ACC?

Excuse me if these questions sound stupid, because you know what you're doing. But got to start somewhere, right. Most important for you to know, is that it works for someone else with the same device!

@botmeister: Thanks for your answer 👍
In Safari - on the iPad? - the first time, you need to make a shortcut to your iOS desktop. Did you do that as well? No, I don't know what you mean by that? My PC runs with WIN11, not iOS.
Secondly, have you tried a different Dash? It's an option to develop dashboard for specific games.
No, only iPad and iPhone, i have no other devices available.
Thirdly, have you tried a different game other than ACC?
I don't have any other simulations, only ACC.

I'm missing something, or I'm too stupid 🙄

- Make the shortcut on the iPad. In safari. To the home screen of the iPad. But that doesn't matter too much, so forget about it.

- A different dashboard, not device. The screen thingies with the text/numbers you want to use, it's called a dashboard. Try a different one first please. You can find example dashboards under Dash Studio.

- NEW: When you go to Simhub > Games > Select ACC (don't launch ACC!). Does Simhub show you a message on top, telling you need port configuration? If yes, then press Ok,  Simhub will set it automatically for you. Otherwise no data is coming from the game. If set correctly, there is no message.

If it doesn't work out, please find a friend/family with some basic knowledge on computers. That's probably faster than via this forum. I'm more than happy to help out but it's also a bit difficult this way 😊

@botmeister: You must have misunderstood me.
I can't connect to the iPad (IP or QR), so I can't test any other dashboards. I don't need to test that either, it works via the browser, so the port (9000) is set up in SimHUb. A 5"-USB-Display also works without any problems, with various custom dashboards.
I'll manage somehow, thank you very much for your time and help.

@botmeister: The error came from my router. The "see other devices on the network" function could not be activated. The software error was fixed and now it works as it should. 🤗 Kind regards, PeterM

I had this same issue on several devices at the same time. What ended up working for me was to release and renew the IP address of the SimHub PC. Although the IP address did not change it did resolve the issue on all devices.

1. Open the command prompt by typing CMD in the Start menu or the Run box
2. Type ipconfig /release and hit enter to release the current IP address
3. Type ipconfig /renew and hit enter to request a new IP address

Not exactly sure why this worked for me, but I hope it helps someone else 🙂

To troubleshoot the issue of using your iPad as a Dash with SimHub, ensure that both your PC and iPad/iPhone are connected to the same local Wi-Fi network. Verify the correct IP address and port settings in SimHub on your PC, and manually enter this information into Safari or another browser on your iPad using the format http://[PC_IP_ADDRESS]:[PORT_NUMBER]. For example, http://192.168.1.100:8888. Make sure all firewalls, including Norton and Windows Defender, are disabled on your PC, and check for any network isolation settings on your router that might hinder device communication. If the problem persists, consider resetting network settings on your iPad or consulting SimHub support for further assistance.
