Just wondered whether anyone has thoughts on how to get a sub woofer output from my motherboard?
I have a ROG X570-I Gaming motherboard. It has a 3.5mm sound out - which I'm currently using with some Harmon Kardon PC speakers, but there's no optical out or individual channel outputs so I'm not sure how I go about isolating the bass channel for the bass transducer amp.
I've seen some cheap and cheerful external USB sound cards on Amazon, but it looks like they require an optical out.
I've only recently transitioned from console to PC for sim racing. I previously had the shaker amp connected to the spare sub woof output on the home theatre amp and that worked fine.
Hi !
When using simhub unlike consoles you won't be using anymore the "bass" channel of the game but simhub generated sound based on telemetry : https://github.com/SHWotever/SimHub/wiki/ShakeIt-V3-Bass-Shakers---Audio-Output-Configuration
In this way you need a separate dedicated sound card (it can be USB) so simhub generated sound and game sound does not get mixed. The sound card you linked is the one I use for this purpose it works fine with the proper drivers installed (not the windows default ones), the optical output is optional and you can use the regular jack to rca cables on it.
