Hello,

I set off a year ago to explore sim racing and the benefits of it to motorsport content. In doing so, I started a collaboration with Itead directly re: the Nextion screens and their use in sim racing. I've recently discussed with them the inoperability with Nextion and Simhub to which they do indeed seem atleast very open to reconciling this. Is there anyone I can speak to facilitate this? Does simhub have an interest in this still?

Hi ! HMI screens were an option when usb and small sizes hdmi screens were extremely rare and over expensive, but options are now multiple and they allow a very smooth usage for the user while HMI screens are stuck on a design.

While I've stopped evolution and support of future versions of nextion more than one year ago mostly due to the impossibility of a simpler integration with nextion tools, the whole "HMI" concept is now totally under performing in term of cost/usage simplicity. And it makes no sense anymore to follow this way.

On another end I would not betray long term users by simply removing the nextion feature of SimHub making their existing hardware useless. That's the only reason why I keep it in simhub.

Finally since all my contacts in the last years with ITEAD where mostly dead-end-discussions and I really can't trust this brand at all 🙁

That's understandable - is there anything regarding Nextion that if it were improved, might be something that would have you view Nextion as a worthwhile investment of ongoing resources? You mentioned integration and I would agree the fact that there's no way to migrate something as useful as Dash Studio to a display is a miss while this is feasible with the USBD480 or Vocore for example. This was the exact scenario I showed my contact who seemed to fully grasp the opportunity upon seeing how simhub connects with nextion.

But candidly, in a perfect world, would that be enough for you to consider Nextion support ongoing or would other specific things need to change? & I ask despite how accommodating or lackthereof they may have been before, this can be things that seem unlikely to happen.

I also understand your own hesitation as I know how much time and effort goes into simply a conversation. So if you're open to it, I'll facilitate this early conversation until you feel there's something promising here as I can't imagine how much work this whole platform is. But as someone who doesn't like to waste time, I wouldn't waste yours - I believe this person is an actual decision maker and shows a genuine interest in Simhub but again I can respect your hesitation.

Just following up here doing my due diligence - is there anything you'd want ITEAD to solve, offer, or take action on that might make you believe there's a genuine intention to improve the integration with Simhub? Even if it's just something for good faith.
