Hello,

I have a strange problem, which I am unable to solve by myself. I already did a lot of research on the internet, but my specific problem isn't covered there. So I want to describe it here and maybe someone had the same problem or has a hint to solve it.

I mounted 5 bass shakers on my rig, with an amp of 300 W, so that there is definitely enough power. On this day, when I mounted the system, everything worked fine without any problems. I configured everything in the Shakeit Bass Shaker section, tested it with several games and the vibrations came out like intended. So far so good.

But: the next day (I just turned the whole system off at the end of the day and turned it on the next day, no changes were made) I want to run a game and since then, no vibrations are coming out of my shakers.

At this point I want to be clear, that Simhub shows output, as I can see in the live effects. And when Simhub sends a signal, I can see it in the windows sound options for my external sound card too. And the amplifier goes from standby to active, when this signal is sent from Simhub. But it doesn't get any signal out to the shakers, so that there are no vibrations.

So it seems, that a signal, sent from Simhub, is going out. But however, it doesn't get to the shakers. And in my specific case, I also can not get any vibrations out of my shakers, even when I test it with other software, for example directly with the LFE Output of iRacing etc. Even with the test noise in the windows sound options there isn't any outcome to hear from the shakers. It feels like the Amplifier is muted, but there is no mute button, and all the volume channels are set at 75 %. And in Simhub as well as in windows the volume is everywhere cranked up to 100 % and not muted. 😉

And I checked the hardware, from the wiring, to the connection to the PC, the Power Plug. There is nothing loose or other visible problems. I tried several usb ports directly on my motherboard, or with usb-hubs, but it is still the same.

I couldn't find any similar problem on the internet. I also checked all the FAQs here from simhub and I tried all the recommendations. I also already deleted and reinstalled the sound card several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, tested it with and without the driver, set resets etc. Nothing changed. The antivirus can not be the problem, because I tried it already without the antivirus software and it also didn't change anything.

I have no clue what can cause this problem simply by turning it off and on.

That the Amplifier is broken could be a possibility, but in my opinion unlikely, because it was used just 1 day. I will test it with another Amp, but this will take a few days to organize one.

And I also want to make sure, that there isn't a configuration in the software settings, which messes everything up. Maybe there is something interfering each other?

As simracers, we encounter the weirdest problems at some times. So I hope, that somebody here has the knowledge or simply gives a hint, which can solve this problem.

I am grateful for any advice, and I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,

Bjoern

I've dealt with the same sort of issue. Ironically the way i got it working again before, was to physically pull out the power cable in the back of my Nobsound NS Mini amp and plug it back in.

But thats not working anymore.

Power switch doesn't seemingly do anything. Unplugging it. Checking connections. Different usb port. Trying a Soundblaster 3 usb to female aux dongle w/ an aux cord to the amp. It gets recognized, but nothing is doing it. I'm tempted to get another one, but i'm almost certain its not broken as its acted the same way about 2-3times before.

Halp. Please! Should i just go bigger with the amp or is it something simple? I was prepared to just spend more, but it was perfectly adequate in my opinion.

Did you fix this issue?

I had random output channels dropping out and found that if I disabled one then the other would work, weird.

i then purchased a cheap usb audio output dongle from another brand and run two indifferent brands and works for two channels. Probably a windows issue, I deleted drivers and reinstalled with original audio dongles but nothing helped, it was random issue.

you can check you amp by unplugging the cable that plugs into your audio dongle and just touch the end with your finger and the shaker should ‘hum’, that will check amps working fine and that’s its and issue with the dongle or windows or Simhub.

seems the latest version is working more reliably but then again I’m still running two separate brand dongles.
