Hello 🙂

I recently installed Simhub as something I want to have a look at (try before you buy if you will), but I haven't been able to get it communicating with either Forza Horizon 4 or my phone (OnePlus 6T, Android).

I have followed the added help guide for FH4, put in the correct IP address and port address, to no avail. I have also followed the general troubleshooting page with no success.

I have managed to get it connected to F1 2019 (thanks to the automated process), but when I try to load up the page on my phone or laptop, it says the page "took too long to respond".

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Alex

Hi !

That's really strange indeed ,
In reverse order 😀
About dash on phone or PC :
- Have you tried another port ? Often if you get stuck on both the computer or remotely (phone) it's due to a conflicting app.
- What version of windows are you running exactly ? (You can get it by running the winver command)
- No third party antivirus/firewall ?
- Can you see any particular error in the simhub log ? (you can see it in the "System log" tab inside simhub)

About Forza Horizon :
This game can be tricky to get working thanks to Microsoft "strange security features", what result gave the "Windows 8 AppContainer Loopback Utility" ?

Let me know,
Nicolas

I really appreciate the swift response!

Quick bit of background, I'm living on a university campus and the WiFi system we use is one without a password but we need to put in our 'identity' and that acts as our 'log in' (its called eduroam, if youve heard of it youll know what I mean).

My first attempt was using the ethernet port that connects to my university internet. That didn't work, so I thought the problem was the university internet.

Tried connecting my PC to my phone (as a hotspot). That worked flawlessly.

Tried connecting both my phone and my PC to university WiFi. That worked.

Retried PC to ethernet, phone to WiFi: Didn't work.

Very odd, but I can get it to work. Also I can confirm for me that this works with Windows Firewall and Norton AntiVirus fully enabled 🙂

Ah that makes sense indeed ! Any decent public wifi are obviously protected to secure devices from each other , when going through this network you won't be able to make computer and phone talk to each other (there are probably ways to get through it, but it's not really the place to talk about cyber-security 😀 )

So now if anyone has a similar issue, maybe step one could be "Try not using ethernet". Either way, I can use it perfectly fine and really enjoying it so far 🙂 excellent work!
