Using TX1 and RX0 for encoders/buttons: possible?

The title says it all. I'm unsure if these connectors are used for anything else, but if not, it would be quite useful. I tried ports

(I also asked two smaller questions here, if you could possibly answer, je t'en serais reconnaissant!)

 

EDIT: I found the answer for my initial question, if anyone stumbles upon this: assigning buttons 0 and 1 did the trick!

@fede_villaa Late reply; the solution is just assigning ports number (1) for TX and (0) for RX in the sketch setup menu to your desired inputs.
